Cardiovascular Catheterization Lab (Cath Lab)
This division includes cardiovascular invasive cardiologists and laboratory staff who provide diagnostic and treatment plans with a full range of modern technical facilities under the supervision of cardiovascular department. The main feature of this division is the presence of celebrities in invasive cardiology offering a great spectrum of services as the following:
- Cardiac Catheterization (adults and children)
- Coronary angiography
- IVUS (Intravascular ultrasound)
- Angiography of central and peripheral arteries (kidney, feet…)
- Angioplasty of coronary arteries and deployment of bare metal stents and drug eluted stents
- Angioplasty of peripheral arteries
- Angioplasty and stent deployment in carotid and vertebral arteries
- Occlusion of PDA, atrial or ventricular septal deffects
- Treatment of aortic aneurysm( thoracic and abdominal)
- Embolectomy
- Valvuloplasty of mitral and aortic valves
- Electrophysiology studies to determine the main causes of cardiac arrhythmia and heart blocks
- Insertion of single chamber, dual chamber, tri- chamber pacemaker and ICD (implantable cardioverter-defibrillator)
- Placement of trans venous pacemaker (temporary)
- Radio frequency ablation to treat of arrhythmia
- Emergency angioplasty in acute heart attack (acute coronary syndrome) in office hours
- Emergency coronary angiography and angioplasty
Patient Admission
Patient admission is based on the physician ‘s order note with prior appointments. In emergency cases ,patients are admitted to cath lab through emergency department ‘s coordination with on- call cardiologist.
