Pathology
The service offered by this laboratory includes: analysis of the resected tissues removed by the surgeon. This is generally done to diagnose whether the specimen is malignant or benign .The tissue is then put to IHC (Immunohistochemistry) to determine the right treatment. Some times during surgery the surgeon needs to determine whether the emoved tissue is malignant or benign so small sample is sent to pathology for analysis. The result of this kind of tests is given in 15 to 20 minutes time and is normally called the frozen sample. Also needle aspiration samples and all body fluids obtained are sent to pathology laboratory and called fine needle aspiration cytology which is then centrifuged to determine the disease.
